AIIMS Bhopal has made significant strides in affordable and advanced healthcare by successfully completing three kidney transplants, setting a new precedent in the region. The first of these transplants was performed in January 2024, when a man generously donated a kidney to his son.
Recently, two additional successful transplants were carried out, wherein two wives selflessly donated their kidneys to save their husbands' lives. One of the patients hails from Rewa, while the other is from Bhopal, and both are currently recovering well. These courageous acts of donation, coupled with the expertise of the medical team at AIIMS Bhopal, have brought new hope for a healthy future to these families.
AIIMS Bhopal is renowned not only for its medical success but also for its commitment to providing affordable healthcare services. The average cost of a kidney transplant at AIIMS Bhopal ranges from Rs 3 to Rs 4 lakh, significantly lower than the Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakh charged by private hospitals. Additionally, treatment for beneficiaries under government schemes is offered free of cost.
