The Delhi police on Thursday formed several teams to nab the bike-borne miscreants who allegedly killed a property dealer and injured two others after opening fire in Outer Delhi’s Narela area.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Manish, the owner of the Veer Properties, and the injured as Praveen and Kulbir. After the incident that took place on Wednesday night, the accused fled from the spot after opening fire indiscriminately.

A senior police officer said, “In the initial investigation, the motive behind the crime could be money and land. There is no evidence of any gang being involved. If police sources are to be believed, there was an old quarrel with someone named Ashish living in the area. Ashish had come with his friend Deepak and others.”

He added that the search for them is going on and said that Ashish is the owner of Shri Shyam Stock (Building Material). In the initial investigation, the police came to know that the deceased and his two companions were sitting in the office and talking. At that time, masked miscreants entered the office and started firing indiscriminately. The miscreants had come to kill the property dealer, on whom they fired several bullets. The miscreants knew who all were sitting in the office.

The police are trying to take statements of the injured.

“Police have seized the footage of CCTV cameras from the crime scene, through which efforts are being made to identify the accused.

Police have registered a case against the accused. Local police and special staff teams have been entrusted with the task of arresting the accused,” another police officer said.

According to the information, Narela Police received a PCR call about firing on Gonda Road in Swatantrata Nagar at around 8.15 pm.

“Police reached the spot. Three injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. Doctors declared one of them dead and said that the condition of his two companions was critical. They were shot from close range,” he said.

Further, the police added that according to the preliminary investigation, there was a heated argument between the victims and the accused over some money pending with the deceased.

The accused had supplied construction material to a site and the deceased’s payment was pending.

After the quarrel, the accused opened fire on the victims in their office. The accused are being traced and their criminal involvement and gang affiliation is being verified.
