A crucial meeting convened under the chairmanship of the District Election Officer Ananya Mittal marked a significant step towards modernizing election procedures. Administrative and police officials received comprehensive training on the innovative Suvidha App, designed to simplify the process of obtaining permissions for various election-related activities. Senior officials including the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishore Kaushal City SP, PD ITDA, ADM Law and Order, ADC, ADM (SOR), and others participated in the event, signaling a collective commitment to enhance electoral processes.
The introduction of the Suvidha App signifies a monumental shift in the way candidates and political parties navigate the complex landscape of election permissions. Gone are the days of tedious visits to election offices; now, with a single tap on the Suvidha App, permissions for meetings, rallies, sound systems, helicopters, helipads, and other campaign essentials can be seamlessly acquired. This revolutionary initiative, developed by the Election Commission, operates under a single-window system, streamlining the entire process and ensuring efficiency and transparency.
During the meeting, the District Election Officer emphasized the significance of the Suvidha App in the context of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Candidates and political parties will have access to a user-friendly interface, facilitating the submission of permission requests online. The Suvidha App will serve as the primary platform for communication between applicants and relevant authorities, with no objection certificates issued directly through the app.
Notable attendees at the meeting included the Deputy Election Officer, SDMs from Dhalbhum and Ghatshila, ACMO, Deputy Superintendents of Police, and other key officials, underscoring the widespread collaboration and support for this transformative initiative.
With the Suvidha App in place, the election process promises to be more accessible, efficient, and inclusive. Candidates and political parties can download the app from the Election Commission of India's website and obtain permissions seamlessly, from the date of nomination until 48 hours before the conclusion of voting. This groundbreaking development marks a significant stride towards modernizing electoral practices and ensuring a fair and transparent democratic process.
