Soft skills training for nursing students at AIIMS

Soft Skills- Humanities Educational Training workshop was organised for the second year M.Sc. Nursing students of AIIMS Bhopal. The primary objective of this training was to make students aware of the essential soft skills required to prepare a generation of nursing professionals who can emotionally connect with patients and provide better care.

Professor (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, highlighted the significance of soft skills in nursing, stating, "Soft skills are extremely important for nursing staff as they contribute to effective patient care along with clinical expertise. These skills, including communication, empathy, teamwork, and problem-solving, play a crucial role in building trust and harmony with patients and their families."

Prof. Singh further emphasized that nursing staff with strong soft skills are better equipped to understand the emotional and psychological needs of patients, enabling them to provide more compassionate and holistic care. He added, "These skills also promote collaboration, fostering a positive environment in the workplace and improving overall healthcare outcomes.
