A sub-inspector has been line attached after he was found performing duty in an inebriated state and misbehaving with family members waiting for post-mortem at Hamidia hospital.
The family of the deceased had a dispute with the Sub Inspector (SI) over the delay in the postmortem of the body in the mortuary of Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal.
He is accused of performing duty in an inebriated condition and misbehaving with the family members of the deceased. The matter is being investigated.
DCP Priyanka Shukla said that SI Moolchand Meena has been attached.
A bike rider died after being hit by a truck on Tuesday afternoon at the Smart Road intersection.
According to TT Nagar Police, Chandrabhan Birha (30), a resident of Banganga Basti, was going towards the number 6 stop on his bike at around 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. A truck hit his bike at the Smart Road intersection near Platinum Plaza.
In which Chandrabhan was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The police kept his body in the mortuary. The police told the family members that the postmortem will be done on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday morning, the family reached Hamidia. But, there was a delay due to no policeman coming from the police station. When the family asked the Sub Inspector of TT Nagar Police Station, who arrived late, to get the postmortem done quickly, he got angry. The family of the deceased has alleged that the SI used abusive language.
According to the information received from Hamidia Hospital Police Station, the family of the deceased had reached the hospital at 10.30 am for the postmortem of the body. But, Sub Inspector Moolchand Meena of TT Nagar Police Station, who was investigating the case, did not reach. Due to this, there was a delay. When Sub Inspector Meena reached the mortuary at 11.30 am, the family asked for the postmortem to be done quickly. Inspector Meena did not like all this. He started misbehaving with the family.
When the family members, who reached the hospital for the postmortem of the dead body, asked Sub Inspector Meena not to misbehave, he started abusing them. When the family members asked Sub Inspector Meena to inform the TT Nagar police station in-charge about the incident, he started abusing TT Nagar TI as well.
Chandrabhan Viraha was working as an out-sourced employee in the Agriculture Department. He used to sit in the office located in Witton Market. He lived in Rajora Agricultural Farm located in BHEL. On Tuesday, he had left the office located in Witton Market to have food for his colleagues, when the accident happened.
