Shah raises Bangladeshi infiltration issue in Santhal region

Saturday, 21 September 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today launched the BJP’s election campaign in Jharkhand as he kicked off the Parivartan Yatra campaign for the Santhal Pargana Division from Bhognadih in the Sahebganj district. Bhognadih, is the birthplace of the legendary brothers Sido and Kanu, who led the Santhal revolt in 1855.

Addressing a public rally at the Police Line ground, Shah said that if the BJP is voted to power in the state, free treatment of up to 10 lakh rupees will be provided to people aged 75 years and older. He also alleged that Bangladeshi infiltrators have changed the demography of the Santhal region of the state. Addressing another rally in Giridih, Shah alleged that the Jharkhand government is protecting infiltrators for the vote bank.

Targeting JMM/Congress alliance government alleged appeasement policy, Shah claimed that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the BJP can save Jharkhand from Bangladeshi intrusion. Amit Shah said that if BJP forms the government in the state, we will straighten the intruders by hanging them upside down.

Amit Shah said that this land belongs to the tribals, but the number of intruders is continuously increasing here. Tribals have decreased from 44 percent to 28 percent. Since the intruders are the vote bank of JMM, Congress and RJD, the government here is engaged in the welfare of the intruders instead of public welfare.

The Union Home Minister said that change is necessary to change this situation and this change is not about changing the Chief Minister but about eradicating corruption and bringing a good government. This is a change to bring a government that saves the land of the tribals and drives out the intruders. This is a change for a government that makes arrangements for employment in the state.

Shah noted that the number of Bangladeshi infiltrators is increasing day by day in comparison with the tribals in Jharkhand, which has to be stopped and be done only by the BJP.

Shah also alleged that the JMM government that the Jharkhand government has adopted ‘Ghuspaithia Kalyan’ (Welfare of infiltrators) in place of tribal welfare due to which slogans like ‘Hindus and tribals leave Jharkhand’ are echoing in Sahibganj and Pakur.

He also questioned people if Hemant Soren or the Congress party could save Jharkhand from infiltration. "Since Bangladeshi infiltrators are the vote bank of JMM, Congress and RJD, they don’t want to stop them," he said.

He also said that looking at the seriousness of the matter, the Jharkhand High Court has also ordered to form a committee of state government and central governments to investigate in this regard.

The Parivartan yatra, which started on September 20 and will span all six organizational divisions of Jharkhand and cover a distance of 5,400 kilometers.

The yatra will run from September 20 to October 3, passing through over 200 blocks and covering all 81 assembly constituencies. There will be 80 welcome events and 65 public rallies, with more than 50 national and state-level leaders expected to participate.

The yatra will held in Palamu division’s from September 21 to 28, Hazaribagh division from September 21 to 28, South Chotanagpur division from September 23 to October 1, Santhal Pargana from September 20 to 30, Dhanbad from September 20 to 26 and Kolhan from September 23 to October 2.
