Satna records 40.7 degree C, highest temperature in MP

The mercury reached 40.7 degree celsius in Satna which was the highest of the state and along with this warning of excessive night temperatures and thundery activities in few regions has been issued by Met.

The Met department has issued warning of extreme hot nights in  Namjadapuram, Satna, Maihar, Umaria, Damoh, Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh districts while thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds in Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni and Balaghat districts.

With the end of March month, hotness in the weather conditions has started to reach extreme levels  and humidity has increased with little drizzle. These two types of weather are witnessed in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

Drizzle is expected during summer in 20 districts including Gwalior-Jabalpur. Nights will also be hot in many cities.

Meteorological Department, Bhopal, said that due to cyclonic circulation, trough and western disturbance, there are chances of rain and storm in one or two districts of East and West Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. At the same time, heat waves i.e. hot winds will also blow in Guna, Shivpuri, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Ashoknagar, Jabalpur, Mandla and Balaghat for the next 2 to 3 days.

According to the Meteorological Department, the nights will remain very hot in Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Umaria, Balaghat for the next two days. The night temperature here is expected to be between 23 to 25 degrees. After this the effect of heat will increase.

The effect of the current system will end on Monday. After this the effect of heat will start increasing. However, a Western Disturbance is expected to be active in the Western Himalayas on April 3. Its effect can be seen in the next 2 to 3 days.

On Saturday, there were clouds in many cities of the state. Due to this the day temperature has dropped. The mercury in Bhopal was 37.7 degrees with a drop of 1.3 degrees. Indore recorded 37.4 degrees. The mercury was recorded at 38.5 degrees in Gwalior, 37.7 degrees in Jabalpur and 37.5 degrees in Ujjain.

Satna was the hottest on Saturday. The day temperature here was recorded at 40.7 degrees. Whereas, 40.1 degrees were recorded in Khandwa, 40.2 degrees in Damoh, 40.4 degrees in Khajuraho and 40.4 degrees in Mandla.
