Sagar conclave aims to accelerate growth in Bundelkhand

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened new avenues for the comprehensive development of the Bundelkhand region by initiating the Ken-Betwa project.

This project will boost both agricultural and industrial growth. The upcoming Regional Industry Conclave, scheduled for 27th September in Sagar, aims to give Bundelkhand often celebrated as the land of heroes a new identity while driving industrial development.

Yadav noted that similar conclaves held in regional areas have achieved remarkable success in attracting investments, leading to the region’s growth and creating numerous job opportunities. He assured that the Madhya Pradesh government is fully committed to the overall development of Bundelkhand and will leave no stone unturned in achieving this goal.

Yadav said that before the Sagar Regional Industry Conclave, discussions were held with the industrialists of Bundelkhand region. Everyone has agreed to invest on a large scale to promote industries. Industrialists from India and abroad have shown interest in participating and investing in the conclave.

Many important schemes for industrial development are being implemented in the major districts of Sagar division – Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Damoh and Panna, which will increase investment in the state and generate new employment opportunities.

As many as 206 industrial units are operating on a total of 440 acres of land in 5 industrial areas in Sagar district. Capital investment of about Rs 211 crore has been made in these units and 4789 have been employed. Major projects include an investment of Rs 15000 crore by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in the refinery at Bina and employment to 4000 people. Additionally, an additional investment of Rs 49000 crore is proposed for the expansion of the refinery and construction of a petrochemical complex, which will provide direct and indirect employment to thousands of people.

Chhatarpur district has 3 industrial areas, located on 145 acres of land. A total of 82 industrial units are operating here, which have provided an investment of Rs 19 crore and employment to 560 people. There is a proposal to develop an industrial area on 131 acres of land in Dhadhari village in future. Development of new industrial areas is also proposed in Damchi, Nayagaon, Pathapur, and Sikarpura villages by the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, which will give a boost to industries like food processing, mineral-based industries, and engineering works.

There are 4 industrial areas in Tikamgarh district, in which a total of 32 industrial units are operating. This has resulted in capital investment of about Rs 12 crore and employment to 358 people. Among the major schemes, the construction of a bell metal cluster and furniture cluster is proposed. Apart from this, industrial areas are also being developed in Sunora Khiriya, Kari Khas, and Lidhaura Ugarh villages, which will provide further expansion to local industries.

There are 3 industrial areas in Niwari district, in which a total of 119 industrial units are operating. Capital investment of Rs 135 crore has been made here and 1690 people have got employment. Among the important projects, an integrated steel plant is being constructed by Pacific Meta Steels with an investment of Rs 1772 crore, which will employ 1164 people. Also, new industrial areas are being developed in Babedi forest and Jer village.
