The Sri Kendriya Durga Puja Maha Samiti Palamu is to take out a grand Shobha Yatra on October 2 ahead of the sacred Kalash Sthapana.
Giving this information the president of the Sri Kendriya Durga Puja Maha Samiti Durga Johri said "This October 2 the beauty and elegance of the Shobha Yatra will be worth all time memory. It will be very grand."
Johri is the president of the Sri Kendriya Durga Puja Maha Samiti for 10 consecutive years. On immersion Johri said "It has been unanimously decided to have immersion of the holy idols on October 12."
There are mainly 4 locations in Daltonganj including the bank of the river Amanat where the immersion of the idols is done.
Johri said "There is much water in both the rivers Koyel and Amanat. We urge the administration to have a safety line and local swimmers ready in the event of any mishap."
A 17 year old boy very recently lost his life in the river Koyel when he got swept away by the waters of the river. Johri added "There would be great many cautions on our side too. Immersion parties should have to be vigilant and alert."
He said "We request the faithful not to allow children to go into the river during the immersion. We can't afford any carelessness in the river water."
Last year there were 581 Puja pandals during the Durga Puja in Palamu. A few more may be expected to add to this figure. Close to Palamu, Garhwa district had 575 Puja pandals last year. There were just 146 Puja pandals in Latehar district last year.
