Rs 10 crore embezzlement revealed in SIT probe

Employees of Seed Certification Institute and officials of Nationalised and private banks colluded to embezzle Rs 10 crores, revealed SIT investigation which arrested six persons involved in the scam.

The Zone-03 city police Bhopal exposed the embezzlement of crores of rupees which committed the crime in an organised manner.

The accused, on the basis of fabricated documents, withdrew government money of Rs. 10 crore from the bank and purchased land worth crores of rupees, on which land they had planned to avail subsidy under Rashtriya Pashu Samvardhan Yojana run by the government and to repay the embezzled amount by taking a loan of crores of rupees on the land, which plan was busted by the SIT team in time.

The mastermind of the case, B.D., was arrested by the SIT team. Namdev was arrested. The accused committed the fraud in connivance with the top officials of nationalized banks and private banks.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-03 Bhopal Riyaz Iqbal gave instructions to constitute an SIT team and take action in the crime as government money of Rs. 10 crore was embezzled.

Police said that on September 14, applicant Sukhdev Prasad Ahirwar, Seed Certification Officer, Head Office, M.P. State Certification Institution, Bhopal, lodged a complaint against  B.D. Namdev (Peon, Madhya Pradesh Seed Certification Institution) and Noel Singh (Branch Manager, Central Bank of India, Imami Gate, Bhopal) for embezzling Rs. 10 crore FDR of M.P. State Seed Certification Institution deposited in Central Bank of India, Imami Gate Branch, Bhopal.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was started

In the investigation the modus operandi was revealed that  M.P. State Seed Certification Organization's peon Bijendra Das Namdev along with his office colleague Deepak Panthee Assistant Grade-03 (Accounting Assistant), his other colleague Agent Barun Kumar, Shailendra Pradhan alias Acharya Baba, Central Bank of India branch Imamigate branch manager Noyal Singh deposited 2 FDRs of MP State Seed Certification worth Rs. 10 crores.
