*Bokaro | 15th August 2024* – The Rotary Club of Bokaro Steel City celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with flag hoisting, tree plantation, and a blood donation camp. The events were held at Asha Ki Kiran in Ulgoa and the Rotary Club premises at Janwrit 4. Club President Rotarian Mahesh Kumar Gupta and Secretary Rotarian Hardeep Singh led the flag hoisting ceremonies at both locations.
Following the flag hoisting, children from Asha Ki Kiran and the Rotary Play Group School were treated to snacks and refreshments. The blood donation camp, organized under Rotarian Dr. Rajdeep's leadership, saw participation from nine Rotarian members and was supported by the Blood Bank at Bokaro General Hospital. President Gupta highlighted the life-saving impact of blood donation.
The celebration also featured cultural programs and a tree plantation drive, where 21 fruit-bearing saplings were planted to promote environmental conservation. Gupta urged attendees to plant at least five trees in their surroundings. The successful event was supported by numerous Rotarian members, including past district governors and other distinguished guests.
