RMC gears up for Durga Puja, officials issue various instructions

In view of Durgaotsav, under the chairmanship of Ranchi Municipal Corporation Additional Administrators Sanjay Kumar and Filvius Barla conducted a meeting and issued necessary guidelines to the entire team of the corporation to prepare a special strategy to provide better facilities to the Puja committees and devotees of the City on Thursday.

The Additional Administrator said that this year Durga Puja is being celebrated in a grand manner in Ranchi Municipal Corporation area and directed all the officers to visit the entire area regularly and to take care of any lack of services from the corporation. The senior official also stated that about 160 puja pandals are being organised in 53 wards under the corporation area, so special cleanliness campaigns should be run in all the pandal premises, its surroundings and connecting paths.

Keeping in mind that all the pandals under the corporation area are clean and beautiful, cleaning work should be done by the RMC team during day and night time (three shifts), under which sweeping, garbage collection, cleaning of drains, grass cutting, spraying of bleaching powder, fogging will be ensured on time. Apart from this, open drains need to be marked and also covered with slabs. The official also directed the concerned zonal supervisor to provide stone dust as per the requirement in all the pandals.

Kumar directed the officials of the electricity department to repair all the faulty street lights in the City as soon as possible and to make special lighting arrangements at the black spots of various areas, Kumar also said the department needs to ensure that there are no complaints of faulty street lights during Durga Puja. The official also instructed that for this, a special team should be formed and work should be done in coordination on the connecting routes, apart from the main roads.

The Additional Administrator directed to make arrangements for water tankers and mobile toilets at various places in the pandal premises and main roads, keeping in view the convenience of the devotees. Apart from this, instruction for free city bus service to be run on various routes for the devotees coming from far-off places and for this all routes should be decided. The senior official also stated that all the shelter homes under the corporation area should remain open 24 hours for the devotees to rest.

The official also directed that keeping in view the conservation of water bodies, the immersion kund should be marked and surrounded with a ribbon for idol immersion. With the same promptness with which the corporation worked last year, it should be ensured that the immersion is done this year as well by establishing coordination with the Durga Puja committees.

It was also decided that Ranchi Municipal Corporation Connect Center will be active 24 hours and common people as well as Puja committees can register their complaints by contacting on the number 1800 570 1235,

In the meeting Deputy Administrator Gautam Prasad Sahu, all assistant administrators, all city managers, all city campaign managers, zonal supervisors, ward supervisors and other workers were present.
