The Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar, and the 11th Annual Meet of the RIE Alumni Association were simultaneously held on December 31 in the institute campus.
RIE Bhubaneswar Principal Prof PC Agarwal and former faculty Prof PK Das graced the occasion as guest of honour and chief guest respectively. They released a souvenir. Alumni Association president Dr Hadibandhu Pattanayak presided over the meeting, while Association vice president Ramesh Chandra Patalsingh gave the welcome address. Secretary Prof Sahadev Mallick read the annual report. On the occasion, former teachers of RIE were felicitated by the old students.
The old students renewed their pledge to work for the development of their alma mater. Dr Alok Baren Pattanayak, zonal secretary for West Bengal, proposed the vote of thanks.
The post lunch session was presided over by Satyabrat Kar and Duryodhan Parida while Pratap Chandra Nayak proposed the vote of thanks. A scintillating cultural show was put up in which Annapurna Mohapatra presented solo Odishi. Subash Chandra Rout and Jyotsna Das compeered.
