Katara Hills police have tracked and rescued two minor girls who left their homes on Friday morning in the name of going to school but failed to return till 8 pm after which the family registered a missing report.
One of the girls had taken her mobile with her and had put another SIM card in the mobile.
On the basis of IMEI number, their location was traced as soon as the SIM was activated in the mobile. After which the police recovered the girls at 2 am on Friday night. Both of them have recorded their statements in front of the magistrate. During interrogation, both have told about going to Shirdi.
SHO Brijendra Nigam said two girls of 14 years each live in the police station area. Both are studying in class 7 in a private school. On Friday morning, they left their homes saying that they were going to school like every day. When they did not return till night, the family searched for them at the houses of all relatives and family members. After this, they came to the police station and lodged a complaint. As the matter was related to minor girls, investigation was started immediately.
After technical investigation and checking the footage of more than 50 CCTV cameras, the police reached the girls. Both have been recovered from Bairagarh station.
Police said that one of the girls had a mobile phone. She had removed her SIM. A new SIM was put in this mobile. However, the mobile location was traced on the basis of IMEI number. Immediately the team was dispatched and both the girls were recovered.
During interrogation, the girls told that they had reached Lalghati by auto. From here they reached Manuabhan Tekri. They stayed at the Tekri till five in the evening. After this they left for Bairagarh station. One girl had one thousand rupees and the other had five hundred rupees. Both were planning to go to Shirdi by train with this money.
The new SIM was given to them by one of their friends, this friend was going to accompany them to Shirdi. However, he did not reach the station. Both the girls have not accused anyone of any kind of misbehavior in their statements.
