Police arrest 6 including minor for attempted ATM burglary

Ayodhya Nagar police have arrested 6 accused including a minor who tried to break into the ATM of Canara Bank located in Narela Shankari; accused have planned a Goa trip from the money, vehicle used in the crime was a vital clue in the arrest of the accused.

Police said that all the accused have done recce by roaming around in autos. As soon as they got the chance, they tried to break the ATM with an axe, rod, crowbar and tommy. After succeeding in the theft, the accused had planned to go to Goa.

The incident took place late at night on September 21. After receiving the complaint, the police had deployed three teams to search for the accused.

During interrogation, the accused said that at the time of the incident they heard the siren of the police vehicle. On hearing it, they fled from the spot.

During the investigation, the police checked the footage of more than 50 CCTV cameras installed nearby. In this, the police spotted the suspicious auto rickshaw registration number MP04RB0508 with the help of this auto rickshaw, the police reached the accused.

During interrogation, the accused said that they wanted to become rich at the earliest soon by stealing from the ATM. The first plan was to visit Goa with the money received from this.

Nandlal Singh alias Golu alias Ajju alias Bade (22) lived in village Baberu police station Bisanda district Banda, Uttar Pradesh. He has been driving an auto rickshaw in Bhopal for the last two years and lives in the coach factory area.

The accused entered the machine with an unlawful child and tried to break the machine with an axe, tommy gun and cutter. The accused also used to drive the car of the GM of Railways.

Ankit Arya alias Gappe (18) resident of Hazira Gwalior currently lives on rent at Kapda Mill Ki Chaal Vijay Nagar Chandbad police station Bajaria. The accused also vandalized the ATM along with Nandlal and the minor at the time of the incident.

Ravi Ahirwar (21) of village Ratanpur police station Salamatpur district Raisen currently lives in front of Nitya Seva Sadan in Vijay Nagar Chandbad police station Bajaria. At the time of the incident, the accused stood away from the ATM and kept watch.
