As winter ushers in the peak of picnic season, the East Singhbhum district administration has bolstered security measures to ensure the safety of tourists and picnickers across Jamshedpur's popular destinations. Anticipating a surge in visitors, district police have rolled out a detailed plan comprising plain-clothes officers, intensified patrolling, and enhanced CCTV surveillance.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal spearheaded the initiative, issuing guidelines to promote a secure and enjoyable environment for tourists. Recognizing the challenges posed by increased footfall, the district has adopted a multi-layered approach: Plain-Clothes Officers: Police personnel in civilian attire will keep a discreet watch at tourist hubs to monitor and swiftly address any potential issues. Patrolling Teams: Dedicated units will ensure a visible presence across major picnic and tourist locations, deterring anti-social activities and providing immediate assistance when required. CCTV Surveillance: High-risk zones and critical areas will be under constant monitoring to ensure swift responses in emergencies.
To complement these measures, the SSP urged visitors to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols. Emergency helpline numbers, including those of senior officers, have been prominently displayed at tourist spots to ensure easy access to assistance.
SSP Kaushal reiterated the administration's commitment to zero tolerance for disruptive behavior, warning that offenders would face stringent legal action. “Our goal is to create an environment where families and groups can enjoy their outings without concerns about safety or inconvenience,” he said.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by residents and tourists alike. “It’s comforting to see such proactive measures,” said a local resident. “We feel reassured knowing our safety is a priority.”
By reinforcing security and encouraging public cooperation, the district administration aims to enhance Jamshedpur's reputation as a safe and tourist-friendly destination. As the winter season unfolds, the city is set to welcome picnickers and travelers with open arms and a strong commitment to their well-being.
