People reaffirmed faith in BJP's policies by electing Govt for 3rd consecutive time: Hry CM

Tuesday, 24 December 2024 | PNS | Chandigarh

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said that the people have reaffirmed faith in BJP's policies by electing the government for the third consecutive time. Addressing the people during the Dhanyawad programme in Indri, he expressed his gratitude to the people of the State for showing faith in BJP’s policies.

Saini criticised those who attempted to exploit concerns about the Constitution for political gain, stating that Congress claimed the Constitution was in danger, but the reality is that Congress itself is in crisis. The people of this country have rejected Congress, Saini added.

Taking a dig at Congress, the Chief Minister said how their leaders promised jobs during elections in exchange for votes. Congress leaders had said they would provide one job for every 50 votes. But the people of Haryana rejected such opportunistic thinking. Voters decisively ousted those who planned job allocations for personal gain even before elections, said Saini.

Saini assured that in the third term, the present Government will accelerate development threefold.

Highlighting the difference in developmental work done during the Congress tenure in the last decade with BJP, the Chief Minister said that during Congress’ 10-year rule, only Rs 391 crore was spent on development in Indri, whereas  the present State Government has spent Rs. 1,300 crore over the same period.  He said that earlier, funds were misused due to corruption, depriving the poor of benefits. But the people have rejected such corrupt and nepotistic politics," he said. Dismissing Congress’ claims of faulty EVMs, the Chief Minister said, it was not the EVMs that were faulty, but Congress’ policies, which led people to reject them.

Lauding the achievements of BJP Governments at the state and centre, he said that under the Ayushman-Chirayu Yojana, the state has spent Rs. 2,139 crore on medical care for 16 lakh families. Haryana is also providing gas cylinders at Rs500 under the ‘Har Ghar Grihini’ scheme, benefiting 13 lakh families.

The Chief Minister said that the Government has set a target to empower five lakh women as ‘Lakhpati Didis’. So far, 1,45,773 women have achieved this milestone. Dedicated efforts have been made to ensure the delivery of clean drinking water to every household and 24-hour electricity in villages over the past decade. Government aims to construct five lakh houses for the underprivileged and provide one-lakh families with 100-square-yard plots, he added.

Saini also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of four development projects worth approximately Rs11.33 crore in the Indri Assembly constituency.

Later, he addressed the Dhanyawad programme in Pehowa, Saini that the present state government, in line with Prime Minister Modi's vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas and with the spirit of  ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’ is ensuring holistic development of the state.
