People not to vote for parties & candidates trying to divide anti-BJP votes: Bhupinder Hooda

Wednesday, 25 September 2024 | PNS | Sonepat/Chandigarh

Addressing a public rally in Sonepat, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday cautioned the people not to vote for the parties and candidates trying to divide anti-BJP votes. He said that every vote polled in favour of Congress candidates would be a vote for him. Hooda on Tuesday appealed for votes for Congress candidates by holding nine public meetings in Ganaur and Sonipat.

In Ganaur, Hooda said that vote cutters have been set up at many places as part of a conspiracy to cut the votes of the Congress. “There is a need to stay away from them because all of them are pawns of the BJP. This time there is a direct contest between Congress and BJP. The Congress candidate from Ganaur is Pandit Kuldeep Sharma. On my request, make Kuldeep Sharma an MLA by making him win with a huge margin and you would have your share in the coming government,” he stated.

The former Chief Minister said that the Congress had worked to make Sonipat's name shine all over the world by making it an industry and education hub, but the BJP government worked to push this district back. “Congress had laid the foundation stone of Asia's largest international horticulture market in Ganaur in 2014, but the BJP government could not get it built even in 10 years,” he stated.

“Congress got a rail coach factory approved in Sonipat, but BJP got it canceled. The BJP has put development on the back foot, Congress's approved projects were either stalled or cancelled. The public has weighed the work of Congress and the rule of BJP. Today the wind is blowing in the entire state - BJP is going- Congress is coming,” he added. He also sought votes for Congress candidate Surendra Panwar in Sonipat, and promised that he will come to Sonipat again.

He said that during Congress rule, Sonipat got big gifts like Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Bhagat Phool Singh Women's University, Medical College, National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University, IMT Kharkhoda. “This opened the way for investment, employment, education and progress in Sonipat. On the other hand, BJP took votes from the people of Sonipat and treated them step-motherly for 10 years and did not do a single development work,” he pointed out.

“During Congress rule, the state was number one in per capita income, investment, employment and law and order, but in 10 years of BJP rule, the state has now become number one in unemployment, inflation and crime. Now the time has come to uproot this BJP government for the prosperity and development of Haryana. Do not make any mistake in this, and make the Congress candidate win with a huge majority by giving every vote to the Congress,” he stated.

He said that the seven guarantees given by Congress till now will be fulfilled at any cost. “BJP is asking us where the money will come from. First BJP people should tell themselves where they will bring the money from? BJP has copied the manifesto of Congress, but BJP's shop of lies will not work anymore. People have made up their mind that BJP will be thrown out of Haryana on 5th October,” he added.

“When Congress government is formed, 2 lakh permanent recruitments will be done with merit, transparency and complete recruitment schedule. Congress will fulfil its promises of Rs 6,000 old age pension, legal guarantee of MSP, 300 units of free electricity, gas cylinder for Rs 500, raising OBC's creamy layer Rs 10 lakh and old pension scheme at all costs,” he promised.
