District Election Officer Ananya Mittal convened a meeting with representatives of various political parties at the Collectorate Auditorium to provide detailed information about the publication of the final voter list following the second special summary revision program. The meeting aimed to ensure transparency and cooperation in the electoral process by involving political parties in updating and verifying the voter list.
During the meeting, Mittal informed that the special summary revision of the photo voter list took place from July 25, 2024, to August 27, 2024, using July 1 as the eligibility date. The final voter list was officially published on August 27, 2024. According to the revised data, the district now has a total of 1,854,767 registered voters, comprising 927,747 men, 926,883 women, and 137 third-gender individuals. Notably, 77,172 new voters aged 18 to 19 have been added to the list. The Electoral Participation (EP) ratio in the district stands at 64.50, while the sex ratio is 999. During the revision period, 20,748 names were removed from the voter list.
Mittal emphasized the importance of an accurate and up-to-date voter list, urging political parties to assist in the continuous updating process by ensuring that all eligible voters are included and that any errors are promptly corrected. He highlighted that the updated voter list is accessible at all polling stations, BLOs, AERO, ERO offices, and the District Election Office. Voters are encouraged to verify their registration status through both online and offline channels to ensure their participation in upcoming elections.
Additionally, Mittal introduced the Voter Helpline App and Voter Service Portal (voter.eci.gov.in) as comprehensive platforms for all election-related services. He also promoted the 1950 toll-free number, which allows voters to verify their names on the voter list and facilitates the inclusion of names for individuals who have relocated through Form 8.
To further promote voter awareness, the District Election Officer also discussed the Jharkhand Election Quiz 2024, organized by the State Election Commission. This initiative aims to engage the local youth in electoral processes and increase awareness about voting rights. Valid voters in Jharkhand can participate in the quiz through the link provided (https://jharkhand.indiaelectionsquiz.com), with online registration open until September 26, and the competition scheduled for September 29 from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
