NIT Jamshedpur has made headlines with its maiden entry into the prestigious International Robo War at IIT Bombay Techfest 2024. A team of passionate and innovative engineering students from the institute successfully built a 30 kg battle bot that impressed participants and spectators alike.
What set their robot apart was its unique hammer design, a powerful yet efficient attacking mechanism that demonstrated precision and strength during combat. This innovation not only earned them applause from the audience but also drew appreciation from international teams, including participants from several countries.
The NIT Jamshedpur team faced off against the seasoned Russian team in a thrilling match that showcased their technical expertise and strategic ingenuity. Despite being newcomers to the competition, they delivered a commendable performance, earning respect and recognition from their competitors and the global robotics community.
Speaking about their achievement, the team lead said, "Participating in the International Robo War was a dream come true. Designing and building the battle bot was a challenging journey, but it taught us the value of teamwork, perseverance, and innovation. We’re proud to represent NIT Jamshedpur on such a global platform."
The team’s success is a testament to the growing culture of innovation and technical excellence at NIT Jamshedpur. The institute's Robotics and Automation Club, founded just a year ago by Dr. Vijay Kumar Dalla and student Ashish Ranjan played a crucial role in fostering the skills and enthusiasm necessary for such an achievement.
