Lighting up lives, the central region power distributor has electrified over 4,227 tribal households spread across nine districts of Madhya Pradesh as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Janman campaign.
The Janman campaign aims to bring equity to tribal households by fostering the socio-economic development of particularly vulnerable tribal groups.
The current electrification data, released by the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited (MKVVCL) on Wednesday, pertains to Gwalior, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Sheopur, Datia, Guna, Shivpuri, Raisen, and Bhind districts of the state.
The remaining beneficiary households will be electrified by the end of December this year, said the power distributor. Prominent among the development schemes of Prime Minister Modi, the Janman campaign focuses on energizing tribal-dominated villages and hamlets, with a total of 1,158 villages and hamlets being electrified in the districts of Gwalior, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Sheopur, Datia, Guna, Shivpuri, Raisen, and Bhind under the company’s jurisdiction.
