A 16-year-old minor girl was raped in a moving Janani Express ambulance in Mauganj, accused raped the victim on November 22 in Hanumana police station area.
The minor filed a complaint against 4 people on November 25. These include the maternal uncle, his daughter, son-in-law and the ambulance driver. On November 27, the brother-in-law and the ambulance driver were arrested. Meanwhile, the search for the maternal uncle and his daughter is on.
According to the police, on November 22, Janani Express driver Pandit received a call to pick up a patient from Lasa village in Hanumana police station area. When Pandit left with the ambulance, his friend Rajesh Kewat and his wife Manju Kewat also accompanied him. Manju's maternal home is in Lasa village itself.
The victim stated in the complaint that on the evening of November 22, uncle Ramayan Kewat's younger daughter Manju came to me and asked me to come to her house. I went with her. An ambulance was parked there. Uncle Ramayan Kewat, his elder daughter Manisha, son-in-law Rajesh and driver Pandit were sitting in it.
Manju said that she wanted to visit her sister Manisha's sister-in-law's house. I agreed. Manju and I sat in the back seat of the ambulance while brother-in-law Rajesh and uncle Ramayan sat in the front near driver Pandit. After reaching a little distance, Manju got down from the ambulance saying that she wanted to get water. Brother-in-law Rajesh came and sat next to me.
The driver took the ambulance towards the hill. Rajesh raped me thrice during the night. At around 5 in the morning, all three left me near the house and went away. When I told my mother about this, she asked me to keep quiet for fear of public shame. I mustered courage and went to the police station on 25 November and filed an FIR.
Hanumana police station in-charge Anil Kakde said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim and Rajesh Kewat and ambulance driver Pandit have been arrested. Ramayan and Manju are being searched for.
Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Pandey said, 'The ambulance used in the incident has been seized while the probe is on.
