Mayawati accuses SP of misleading PDA

Tuesday, 30 July 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

Bahujan Samaj Party national president Mayawati has accused Samajwadi Party of misleading the Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak (PDA) communities to get their votes.

She expressed her opinion after the new leader of the opposition was elected.

BSP chief Mayawati wrote on social media platform X on Monday that SP chief did take votes of PDA by misleading them in the Lok Sabha general elections, especially under the guise of saving the Constitution, but the neglect they faced in making the leader of opposition in UP assembly was also a matter of concern.

She further said that there was no place for PDA except one particular caste in SP.

There is definitely no place for the Brahmin community (in SP) because the oppression and neglect they have faced in the Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party governments is not hidden from anyone. In fact, their development and uplift happened only in the BSP government. Therefore, these people must be careful, she pointed out.

In fact, Mayawati gave her reaction to Mata Prasad Pandey being made the leader of the opposition in the UP assembly. On Sunday, SP announced the appointment of Mata Prasad Pandey as the leader of opposition in UP assembly. The post of leader of opposition in the assembly was vacant after Akhilesh Yadav was elected to Lok Sabha.

Political analysts had expected that a leader from the PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) community would be chosen for this post. But the SP played a different card and tried to send a message to UP that despite talking about PDA, it was not ignoring the Brahmin community.
