Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ahead of the commencement of the monsoon session on Monday, said that the government was fully committed to the state’s development and resolving all public issues. He emphasised the government’s openness to addressing any constructive issue that the opposition members bring to the attention of the House.
The chief minister was addressing the media at Vidhan Bhavan ahead of the monsoon session of the state legislature.
“Today marks the beginning of the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature. I warmly welcome MLAs and MLCs, colleagues from all parties who contribute to the successful conduct of the legislative assembly’s proceedings, as well as officers from the Secretariat. I hope that everyone will contribute to ensuring a smooth and productive monsoon session,” he said.
Emphasising that UP passed its budget in February itself, Yogi Adityanath said, “In response to the state’s needs, the first supplementary demand will be presented during the monsoon session. Uttar Pradesh is progressing towards becoming one of the country’s largest emerging economies. The achievements of the state in the past seven years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership are unprecedented, unforgettable and exemplary.”
The chief minister appealed to all public representatives to ensure smooth proceedings in the House and urged both ruling and opposition members to contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s development.
Urging the House to become a platform for meaningful discussion and debate, the chief minister stated, “The government will be fully prepared to respond to every issue raised.”
“This sacred month of Shravan is dedicated to Devadhidev Mahadev. During this time, Shiva devotees take out Kanwar Yatra while our public representatives diligently work to serve the public,” he said.
The chief minister added that the government was prepared for a constructive debate on issues raised by public representatives concerning the development and challenges facing the state.
“I am confident that everyone will contribute to expanding the monsoon session by engaging in meaningful discussions on supplementary demands related to state development and public welfare,” he added.
Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh and Jaswant Saini were present at the press briefing.
Yogi congratulates Mata Prasad Pandey
The chief minister congratulated leader of the opposition Mata Prasad Pandey. He presented him with a bouquet and extended his best wishes to the newly appointed leader of the opposition and former speaker of the assembly.
The chief minister expressed confidence that the opposition will also make a valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the monsoon session.
Later, the chief minister inaugurated the newly-constructed committee room at Vidhan Bhavan before the session began.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also released a souvenir titled ‘Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha mein Mananiya Adhyaksh Satish Mahana ke do varsh’ (Two years of Speaker Satish Mahana in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly). Speaker Satish Mahana, Legislative Council Chairman Manvendra Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, leader of opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Congress MLA Anuradha Mishra 'Mona', Samajwadi Party MLA Om Prakash Singh, Sangram Singh Yadav, Jaikumar Singh Jackie, Akash Saxena, Premsagar Patel and others were present.
