A political seismic shift ripped through Jharasuguda as prominent figures and supporters from the BJD and Congress officially switched allegiance to the BJP during a marathon joining programme on Saturday.
Spearheaded by BJP's Brahmagiri MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak, and State BJP unit secretary Tankadhar Tripathy, the event marked a pivotal moment in local politics.
The BJP's ascendancy in Jharasuguda was palpable, as a wave of leaders and followers embraced the party, underscoring its strategic manoeuvre to fortify its standing and broaden its base. Noteworthy is the BJP's concerted effort to penetrate into both rural and urban domains by absorbing cadres from rival factions.
At the festival held at the BJP party office premises in BTM, District BJP president Sunil Panda, accompanied by other party stalwarts, extended a warm welcome to the new entrants, adorning them with party emblems. State BJP unit secretary Tripathy, addressing the attendees, lambasted the incumbent administration for its lackluster community service.
The event witnessed a significant influx of influential personalities, including former Brajrajnagar Municipal Chairperson Jayanti Garuda, Nikhil Sharma, Roshni Seth, Basant Sahu among others, into the BJP fold, signaling a noteworthy political realignment. The rally, led by Pramod Tripathi, Sanju Pandit, and Manjit Singh, underscored the burgeoning momentum of the BJP in Jharasuguda's political arena.
