A 29-year-old man was allegedly killed early Wednesday following an altercation over a delayed order at an eatery in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area.
According to the police on Wednesday, information was received from the hospital in the morning hours regarding a person being brought dead to which the local police responded immediately.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, who has been identified as Harneet Singh Sachdeva, had visited a dhaba early in the morning and placed an order. Due to the delay in his order, an altercation ensued between Sachdeva and the eatery staff.
“On initial enquiry, it was found that the deceased Harneet Singh Sachdeva, aged around 29 years, had gone to a dhaba named Kafilla and ordered something. Due to delay in his order, an altercation took place between him and the staff there,” DCP West Vichitra Veer said.
The staff of the restaurant then contacted the dhaba owners, Ketan Narula and Ajay Narula, who arrived at the scene with some other people and a fight broke out between Sachdeva, his friends and the owners, DCP Veer said. “The injured was later taken to the hospital by his friends, where Sachdeva was declared dead on arrival,” he added.
The owners have been apprehended and further investigation is underway. “We are also looking into how the restaurant was operating at that hour,” he stated.
, adding that the deceased used to work on the odd labour jobs of whitewashing and had previous involvement in the case of quarrel.
