Chhattisgarh Police on Friday arrested a 22-year-old man and his mother for stealing Rs 7 lakhs in cash and a mobile phone from a wholesale trader in Bilaspur city.
Bilaspur Additional Superintendent of Police Rajendra Jaiswal said Akash Daharia and his mother Shanti of Minimata Nagar have been taken into custody.
The man told the police that he committed the crime in October last year and gave the cash to his mother. He fixed a deal to buy a piece of land from the stolen money.
The police seized Rs 4.30 lakhs in cash and a mobile phone from them.
