Make probe panel report public: BJP

Thursday, 04 January 2024 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

Even though 15 years have passed since the murder of Swami LaxmananandaSaraswati, it is a matter of surprise that the State Government is not making public the probe commission’s report on his killing, said the BJP on Wednesday.

What is the unknown reason behind it or who are the persons whom the government wants to protect for which it has kept the probe report under wraps needs to be answered by it. Now also Swami Laxmanananda’s killers are moving scot-free and are carrying out their anti-Adivasi activities. They are converting the innocent Adivasis in Kandhamal and other districts of Odisha. The government should immediately make the probe commission report public, demanded Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra.

Laxmananandaplayed an important role in Adivasis’ social and educational development. For this, many anti-national organisations hatched conspiracies to eliminate the seer. He was attacked in 2007 following which the State Government had assured to provide him security. But in 2008, he was killed, Mishra said.
