Loyola School celebrated Bagless Day on Saturday, with students from classes 6 to 9 engaging in a series of experiential learning activities. The initiative aimed at breaking away from the traditional classroom setting, allowing students to participate in hands-on experiences that fostered creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Class 6 students explored religious diversity through visits to mosques, churches, temples, and gurudwaras, promoting an understanding of different faiths and the importance of harmony. Meanwhile, Class 7 students engaged in a craft workshop with rural artisans from Purulia, learning traditional art forms such as sohrai and patkar painting, as well as making papier-mâché and grass mats, which fostered a respect for cultural heritage.
For Classes 8 and 9, a wellness session led by gynaecologist Dr. Manju Dubey focused on the physical and emotional changes of adolescence, offering valuable coping strategies. Alumnus Dr. Kailash Dubey provided further guidance on channeling energies during this transformative phase. Additionally, Class 9 students participated in a geological excursion to the P.N. Bose Geological Centre, exploring the fascinating world of rocks, minerals, and fossils.
Overall, the Bagless Day was a success in providing students with enriching, practical learning experiences that complemented their academic journey and supported their personal growth.
