"Freedom is not what you get, it is what you make of it." This powerful message set the tone for the 78th Independence Day celebrations at Loyola School, where the spirit of patriotism was palpable throughout the campus. The event, marked by enthusiasm and reverence, was graced by the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Tejpal Singh Bajwa as the Chief Guest. Joining him were distinguished guests including Fr. Victor Misquith, former Principal, Fr. Augustine, former Rector, Fr. Gerald D'Souza, Administrator cum Treasurer, Fr. Jyoti Ranjan, Headmaster of Loyola Hindi School,  Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice-Principal of the Senior Section,  Vineeta Ekka, Vice-Principal of the Junior Section, and the Plus 2 Co-ordinator. The celebration also saw participation from members of the Loyola Alumni Association, teachers, parents, and students from grades 6 to 12.

The ceremony commenced with the Chief Guest being escorted by Fr. K.M. Joseph, Rector, and Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Principal, to hoist the Indian Tricolour. As the flag unfurled, the National Anthem echoed through the school grounds, filling everyone with pride.

A vibrant cultural program followed, showcasing the students' love for their country through songs, dances, and speeches. The senior students delivered a heartfelt patriotic performance, highlighting India's unity in diversity, and portraying the country as one entity united under a single flag and heart. Their soulful rendition of patriotic songs stirred deep emotions of pride and patriotism among the audience.

The younger students from standards 2 and 3 impressed with their portrayal of historical events like the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy, the Dandi March, and the courageous deeds of Rani Lakshmibai. Their performances not only brought history to life but also emphasized the struggles and sacrifices that paved the way for India's independence.

Adding to the spectacle, the dancers from Loyola Hindi School performed gracefully, and Hritik, a student of class 12, delivered an inspiring speech that left the audience captivated. Their flawless performances were met with thunderous applause, reflecting the audience's appreciation.

The event concluded with an inspiring message from the Chief Guest, Lieutenant Colonel Tejpal Singh Bajwa. He urged everyone to live patriotism daily, not just on Independence Day, and to contribute to the nation's continuous progress and glory.
