In a significant development in the ongoing battle for justice for the victims of the 1984 riots, Satnam Singh Gambhir, the Eastern India President of the All India Sikh Students Federation, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring compensation for all affected families. Today, Gambhir, along with Inderjit Singh Dimple, an advocate for the victims from Daltonganj, handed over a comprehensive list of 178 victims to Advocate Diwakar Upadhyay.

The Jharkhand High Court had previously directed Gambhir, through his legal representative Advocate Upadhyay, to provide detailed information on the number of victims who have not yet received compensation, categorized district-wise. Following this directive, Gambhir undertook a painstaking journey across various districts in Jharkhand, personally meeting with victim families and compiling their information.

"Justice delayed is justice denied," Gambhir remarked solemnly. "We will try our best to get justice for the victims of 1984. It is our duty to ensure that not a single victim's family remains without the compensation they deserve."

The list handed over to Advocate Upadhyay today is a result of months of dedicated work and is a critical step towards achieving justice for the riot victims. Upadhyay, who is representing these families in court, has been urged by Gambhir to vigorously present their case in the Jharkhand High Court.

He has been a relentless advocate for the victims, regularly visiting Jharkhand to push for their rights. His efforts highlight the painful reality that many families still face, 40 years after the tragic events of 1984. "It is very painful to see that justice has not been served even after four decades," he said. "Our struggle will continue until the last victim's family receives their rightful compensation."

The event was also attended by social worker Rupesh Sharma, who has been a steadfast supporter of the victims' cause. The presence of committed individuals like Sharma underscores the broad-based support for this long-overdue justice movement.
