As a significant step forward in Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), the Department of Pharmacology and Psychiatry at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal conducted an integrated lecture for the MBBS 2022 batch on "Drug Therapy of Mania and Bipolar Illness" on January 5, 2024.
The integrated lecture, a collaborative effort between the Department of Pharmacology and Psychiatry, aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical application.
The session was jointly led by Dr. Ahmad Najmi, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, and Dr. Snehil Gupta, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. In medical education, the integration of different disciplines plays a pivotal role in creating a comprehensive learning experience.
The integration of pharmacology and psychiatry in this lecture allowed students to understand the application of drug therapy in the context of real-life clinical cases, reinforcing the principles of CBME.
