Khattar to inaugurate book fair at Panchkula today

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will inaugurate the second book fair at Yavnika Town Park, Sector-5, in Panchkul on Monday. The fair will feature books in Hindi, Punjabi, and English, showcasing works from over a hundred publishers.

 

The official spokesperson said that this time, Yavnika Town Park in Sector-5, Panchkula, is becoming the manifestation of the concept ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ through the medium of the finest books in all Indian languages. This fair is dedicated to the literary and cultural heroes of Haryana and Ram Mandap being the central attraction.

 

The participating publishers include National Book Trust, Sahitya Akademi, NCERT, Children's Book Trust, Geeta Press, Suruchi Prakashan, Rajkamal Prakashan Group, Vani Prakashan Group, and more.

 

The fair will also have a special space for e-books, appealing to international organization World Reader e-books enthusiasts. The venue will host audio-visual presentations for a contemporary reading experience.

 

HVPL director Dr Amit Agrawal stated that during the fair, students will organize special cultural presentations and creative activities daily through school education. Coordinated by the Higher Education Department, on January 16, from 10 am to 2 pm, with support from the Women and Child Development Department, the ‘Asman Chuthi Betiyan Mhari Lado’ programme will take place in the Indradhanush Auditorium.

 

On January 17, in collaboration with the Transport Department, ‘Aao Sadak Suraksha Ka Nayak Baney’ programme, ‘Cyber Yug mein books and e-books’ on January 18, agricultural journalism supported by the Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Department on January 19, a programme on ‘Nasha Mukt, Samaj Sashakat Rashtriya’ with the Health Department’s assistance on January 20, media’s role in pollution control and environmental journalism supported by the Environment Department on January 21, and self-reliant India through tree farming with the Forest Department's support on January 22.

 

Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam managing director Dr Saket Kumar said that the Chief Minister will virtually inaugurate three new libraries constructed in rural Haryana under the Sardar Patel Library Series. These libraries are located in Samanabahu, Karnal; Mohari, Kurukshetra; and Dhaulra village, Yamunanagar district.

 

The National Book Trust will conduct storytelling and calligraphy workshops during the inauguration ceremony. Additionally, a three-day National Art Camp, poetry recitals, music performances by Mahavir Guddu and Prahlad Tipaniya, and cultural presentations by Haryana's renowned groups are scheduled throughout the event.
