Kejriwal presented confidence motion to divert attention from graft: Bidhuri

Sunday, 18 February 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Saturday said here Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal presented the Motion of Confidence in the Assembly only to divert attention from corruption.

Making this assertion, he said there was no need for this as the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP)has a sufficient majority in the Assembly. The truth is that AAP MLAs have faith in the Aam Aadmi Party government but it has lost faith in the public, Bidhuri claimed.

Opposing the Motion of Confidence in the Assembly, he said it is a ridiculous situation that  the allegation after which the Motion of Confidence has been moved in the Assembly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Atishi are not cooperating with the Delhi Police in the investigation of this allegation.

Bidhuri said the Motion of Confidence was moved  to divert attention from corruption and failure of the government on every front.

In his speech, Bidhuri strongly attacked the government regarding several scams of Aam Aadmi Party.

He said by bringing the new liquor policy the master plan and the directions of the Supreme Court were violated. Contractors’ commission was increased from 2 % to 12%.  Many leaders including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh are in jail in the scam and this policy had to be withdrawn after the corruption was exposed.

Bidhuri said the Jal Board is facing a loss of Rs 73 thousand crores and when the Chief Minister of Delhi was the Chairman of the Jal Board, there were scams worth of rupees crores which are being investigated. Private companies were benefited to the tune of Rs 8,000 crore through electricity scam, whereas these people came to power by promising to conduct CAG audit of those companies every year.

Even in the name of health, Delhi government is full of scams. Delhi Government’s Anti Corruption Bureau has caught the scam of fake tests in mohalla clinics. The misappropriation of crores of rupees in the class room scam is also being investigated.

Bidhuri charged that the DTC scam has also come to the fore and is being investigated by the CBI. Apart from this, crores of rupees were recovered from bus operators and taxi owners in the name of panic button, whereas it proved to be only a toy. The anti-corruption branch of the Delhi government has also accepted this.
