As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, the Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada began today and will run until October 2, 2024, with the theme “Swabhaav Swachhata- Sanskar Swachhata.” This year’s campaign focuses on four key initiatives: Swachhata Ki Bhagidari, Total Sanitation and Sanitation Targeted Unit, Swachhata Mitra Suraksha Camp, and the celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2.
In line with the Swachhata Ki Bhagidari program, a plantation drive themed “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was organized today at Jugsalai Nagar Parishad Park. Women from Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Swachhata Brand Ambassadors actively participated in the event, planting saplings of Gamhar and Sagwan trees. The participants also took a cleanliness pledge, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining a clean and green environment.
City Manager Rajendra Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, and community organizer Pushpa Tirki were among the prominent figures present at the event. Swachhata experts like Amrita Sakshi and Brand Ambassadors including Chandra Lata Jain and Sunita Sharma led the plantation drive with enthusiasm. Cleanliness supervisor Ajay Kumar Singh, along with other dignitaries such as Haseen Khan, Sahendra Kumar Singh, Arvind Kumar, and CRP members Aarti Devi, Sushma Devi, and Preeti Vishwakarma, contributed to the event’s success.
The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign aims to encourage community participation in cleanliness efforts, with a focus on environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The event highlighted the importance of planting trees and fostering a culture of sanitation, aligning with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission to create a cleaner and greener India.
