JMM terms PM Modi’s visit to Jharkhand an election stunt

Tuesday, 17 September 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

JMM's central spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya, today termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Jharkhand visit a mere election stunt. Addressing a press conference here on Monday he said that the Prime Minister tried very hard to show his connection with the people of Jharkhand. He wished the people on the occasion of Karma festival. But, he forgot to tell whose festival it was for which he was wishing. The Railway Minister did not attend yesterday's rail program. He said that no minister of the state government was present at the venue.

Bhattacharya said that the government program turned into a party programme. Local public representatives were not given prominence in this programme because all of them are JMM MLAs. BJP leaders were given prominence in Sunday's program. There are two ministers of our government in this district, but no one was invited.

He further said that the Central government has now started fearing Hemant Soren. Sunday's program is proof of this. Till date, no one has seen that a Prime Minister has covered a distance of 130 kilometers by road for an election programme. Modi's government at the Center is standing on crutches. The Central government has not clarified its position on Sarna religion till now. They should discuss this. The result of the Assembly elections to be held in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir is clearly visible. Only formalities are left. He said that BJP is sure to lose the assembly elections in this state.

Due to this fear, many BJP leaders are now coming to Jharkhand. The PM is so scared of Hemant Soren's work that now he is discussing the works of the Hemant government in his meeting.

Supriyo said that yesterday NH 33 was blocked for about 9 hours. NH is the spinal cord of Jharkhand and it was blocked for 9 hours yesterday. It connects many states. Doing such work for the election clearly shows that BJP is afraid of losing here. Further, he advised the central government and said that if any program is to be done, then do not convert it into a party programme.
