Under the auspices of Jharkhand Agitators Mahasabha Lohardaga District Committee, the birth anniversary of Jaipal Singh Munda was celebrated as Agitating Day under the chairmanship of Executive President Amar Kindo at the Municipal Building located in Lohardaga Block Complex on Wednesday. In the program, all the agitators including the chief guest were first welcomed by the working president Kindo.
Tributes were paid to the portraits of immortal pioneer Jaipal Singh Munda and Krantijyoti Savitri Bai Jyotiba Phule by garlanding and offering floral tributes. On the occasion, Senior Vice President of Jharkhand Agitating Mahasabha Central Committee, Ashwini Kujur, while giving the complete life history of Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda from the birth till laying the foundation of Jharkhand state, said that for the last many years, regarding the matter of his honour, respect, identity planning pension, The battle for 11-point demands is being fought, but no sympathy has been shown from the government. The patience of the continuously agitating Jharkhand agitators has now broken.
The agitators who sacrificed everything are disappearing into the lap of time. In such circumstances, Jharkhand agitators are left with no other option other than do or die. In this situation, the Jharkhand agitators are now ready to fight a direct flight with the government against the indifferent and insensitive attitude of the government. Principal General Secretary Quaiyum Khan said that the foundation of Jharkhand was laid by Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda, and Jharkhand separate state movement started. Khan said that Jaipal Singh's dreams of exploitation-free Jharkhand are incomplete.
After the creation of a separate state, various governments in Jharkhand looted the benefits of big schemes. Among the senior agitators of the district, one of the district convenors is Prof. Vinod Bhagat threw light on the lives of Krantijyoti Savitri Bai Jyotiba Phule and Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda. He said that the exploitation-free Jharkhandi society and well-developed state that was to be built are still incomplete. Along with implementing language and culture, he advocated protection of water, forest and land and establishment of industries based on forest products and agricultural products. Said that according to the dreams of Jharkhand agitators and martyrs, the Jharkhand society should be well developed by making a state government plan.
On the occasion, spokesperson of Jharkhand Agitating Mahasabha, Anil Kumar Bhagat, while conducting the event, told about the sacrifices of Jaipal Singh Munda and Savitri Jyotiba Phule. Those who addressed included Sita Oraon, Chaitu Munda, William Kujur, District Secretary Ajivan, Balommi Bakhala, Salen Toppo, Taramani Minj, Rustam Khan, Bharat Gop, Enamul Ansari, Chaitu Munda etc. Speakers said that on the occasion of Jharkhand Agitators' Day, the strategy for intense agitation by Jharkhand agitators to fight for their honour, identity, planning and pension will also be decided soon. On this occasion, Suraj Mohan Lakra, Ajmal Qureshi, Jagdish Oraon, Somnath Bhagat, Sukhdev Oraon, Rustam Ansari, District Treasurer Krishna Thakur, Dashrath Oraon, Ganga Oraon, Manoj Oraon, Lalita Bhagat, Brajesh Tirkey etc. were involved.
At the end of the program, tribute was paid with two minutes silence on the sudden demise of Jharkhand agitator Motichand Yadav. The next meeting was scheduled for 21 February.
