The IREL (India) Limited at Chhatrapur extended its support to PM’s TB Mukta Abhiyan (PMTBMA) by distributing food baskets among the TB patients for their nutritional support.
Under the CSR scheme, the IREL (India) Limited has signed an MoU with local vendors to prepare food baskets and supply them to the needy patients for nine months of the current financial year, sources said.
The company has distributed 930 food baskets among 310 TB patients of Ganjam and Khallikote Blocks and Berhampur Municipal area in the district so far, setting a new record. The distributional ceremony kicked off at UPHC Aga Sahi, Brahmapur recently in the presence of Deputy General Manager of IREL (India) Limited NK Naik and staff. District TB Mukta Abhiyan Project Coordinator Bidesi Jena thanked the company for such noble and humanitarian support.
Along with other seven UPHCs at Brahmapur town, a total of 600 food baskets were distributed among 200 patients including 120 baskets among 40 patients at Kandadeuli CHC and 210 food baskets among 70 TB patients at Khallikote CHC respectively. The campaign will go on for the next few months, said CSR Manager Deepak Mishra, adding that the food baskets comprise toor dal, Amul spray, jaggery, soyabins, sunflower oil and ground nuts.
