The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal has introducted eleven new academic courses and the establishment of a new department.
Among the new courses, there are two new MCh (Master of Chirurgiae) programs in Hand Surgery and Spine Surgery, addressing the growing need for expertise in these fields.
Additionally, seven new DM (Doctorate of Medicine) programs have been launched, covering important areas such as Virology, Tropical Infectious Diseases, Neuropathology, Hematopathology, Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Forensic Radiology & Virtual Autopsy. Furthermore, AIIMS Bhopal has introduced an MD course in Geriatric Medicine, reflecting the growing demand for healthcare services for the elderly population.
An MSc course in Medical Biochemistry has also been introduced to promote research and education in the rapidly evolving field of biochemistry.
At the same time, AIIMS Bhopal has also established a new department, "Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics," which will focus on the increasing importance of transplant medicine and immunological studies.
As a historic initiative, AIIMS Bhopal has opened its PhD programs for sponsored foreign candidates, which will promote international collaboration and contribute to global medical research.
AIIMS Bhopal ED Prof Ajai Singh stated, "The introduction of these new courses and the establishment of a specialized department is a significant step in AIIMS Bhopal's mission to provide world-class medical education and healthcare. By opening our PhD programs to foreign candidates, we will foster international research collaborations, enabling us to contribute to the global medical community and enhance healthcare."
