The Delhi Police on Monday said that they have arrested two members of an interstate gang of vehicle lifters in Burari while apprehending three minor members of the gang. The arrest has led to solving 58 cases of vehicle theft. According to the police, all minor members were 17 years old. The operation also resulted in the seizure of 20 stolen two-wheelers, along with a cache of number plates, chassis, and dismantled bike parts.

The police started probing the gang after receiving a complaint from a local resident, Anand Singh, on November 25. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia said that Singh reported that his Royal Enfield motorcycle was stolen from outside his residence in Burari. “Subsequent investigation revealed that three other vehicles were also stolen in the area on the same night,” he said.
