On October 23, the induction program for 90 newly promoted junior managers of the 2024 batch, along with five new management trainees from the mines division, commenced at the Learning and Development Department auditorium, BSL. The event started with a safety pledge and lamp lighting ceremony, led by Director-in-Charge  Birendra Kumar Tiwari.

The ceremony was attended by senior executives, including  C.R. Mahapatra (Executive Director, Projects and Material Management), Suresh Rangani (Executive Director, Finance & Accounts), Rajan Prasad (Executive Director, HR & Works), Jaydeep Dasgupta (Executive Director, Mines), and Dr. B.B. Karunamay (Chief Medical Officer), along with other senior officials.

In her opening address, General Manager (Learning & Development),  Neeta Ba, welcomed the attendees. DIC B.K. Tiwari, the Chief Guest, congratulated the new officers and spoke about SAIL’s future plans for expansion, modernization, decarbonization, and the key role these managers will play in ensuring safety and environmental compliance in steel production.

C.R. Mahapatra extended best wishes to the trainees, highlighting their responsibility in project completion, while Suresh Rangani briefed the officers on SAIL’s financial strategies.

ED Rajan Prasad encouraged the officers to meet future challenges in the steel industry, and  Jaydeep Dasgupta urged them to familiarize themselves with company regulations, particularly the CDA rules. Dr. B.B. Karunamay emphasized the importance of health and outlined BSL’s healthcare offerings.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from General Manager (Learning & Development)  Rajesh Kumar. The program was successfully conducted by Senior Manager Preeti Kumari, with support from the trainee cell staff.
