Heavy to moderate rains witnessed in 23 ditricts of MP

The month of August has started with heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday, heavy and drizzling rains was reported in 23 districts including Bhopal, Raisen. A school van full of children got stuck in a drain in Bhopal. It could be pulled out with the help of JCB. Roads in some areas of old Bhopal were submerged in water.

The Narmada river is flowing close to the danger mark in Mandla. Ramnagar and Chhota Pul have submerged. The water level of the river reached 437.30 meters, while the danger mark is 437.80 meters. Here, a woman was trapped in the flood in Budhner river in Mandla, SDERF rescued her.

On the very first day of August, a strong system has become active in the state, which will remain for the next 4 days. Madhya Pradesh has received 51% of the season's rain i.e. 18.9 inches. More rains have been witnessed in July than the quota. Similar chances are there in August as well.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in 19 districts of Bhopal, Sagar, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions.

Maximum rainfall of 2.4 inches was recorded in Raisen. Narmadapuram, Indore, Khandwa.

Senior scientist of IMD said, right now the monsoon trough is a little above the state. Cyclonic circulation is towards the Arabian Sea. There is also another cyclonic circulation. Now its strong activity can be seen. Therefore, for the next 4 days, heavy and light rain is expected in the state.

So far, the state has received 7% more rainfall overall. In this, 1% more rains in the eastern part and 14% more in the western part.

Heavy rains occurred in Pipariya of Narmadapuram district on Thursday. Roads were flooded with more than one foot of water. Low lying areas also got submerged.

At the same time, the water level of Narmada river rose in Sandia village 22 km away after water was released from Bargi Dam of Jabalpur. A public announcement has also been made not to go to the ghat on the banks of Narmada.

There are flood-like conditions in Baroda of Sheopur. 14-year-old Dev Rajak, who went to bathe with friends in the rain on Thursday, drowned in the river. The SDERF team rescued him and found the body of the child at around 5:30 pm.

The water level of Narmada in Mandla has reached close to the danger mark. The old bridge has submerged here. Barricades have been put up on both sides of the bridge. The police-administration team is on alert.

Water is flowing over the bridge of Utavali river passing through Boda town in Sarangpur, Rajgarh. Water entered many shops. Traffic to the surrounding rural areas has stopped. Villagers of Sukli, Mahua etc. are waiting for the flood water to subside at the bus stand.

Mandla district has received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of about 4 inches has been recorded in Bichhiya tehsil. At the same time, an average of two and a half inches of rain has been recorded across the district.

The Narmada river is flowing above the danger mark in Mandla. The water level reached 437.30 meters (till 5 pm on Thursday). While the danger mark is 437.80 meters.

A person swept away in a drain near Chhoti Magardi in Ahmedpur police station area of Sehore district. Due to heavy rains here, water had come over the drain.

The accident happened while crossing the drain. The incident happened around 2 pm. He has been identified as Mohan Singh (50). He was going from Magardi to Chandbar.

Due to heavy rains in Chhindwara, a culvert near Kathautiya village located inside Patalkot was washed away.

Rater-Kareyam village of Patalkot has lost contact with the outside area. Villagers are also getting troubled due to the washing away of the culvert in front of Rated Panchayat.
