Harassed by moneylenders a 36-year-old a daily wage municipal corporation employee committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling on Sunday.
Family members alleged that the youth had taken a loan. He had already repaid a major part of this loan. The person who was demanding repayment of the loan used to come to his house every day and misbehaved with him. The youth who had asked for the loan had last come to his house on Saturday.
He had threatened that if the money was not repaid by Monday, he would take legal action. Due to this, the youth committed suicide after getting stressed. However, the police have not found any suicide note. Police said that the matter is being investigated.
The deceased Ram Kumar Pawan was a resident of 60 Quarters, was a daily wage earner in the Municipal Corporation. His brother Shekhar Pawan said that his brother had taken a loan from a youth whose name he does not know, who runs a cosmetics shop in Anand Nagar. His brother was continuously repaying this loan. Suddenly the youth started pressuring him to repay the complete loan.
He used to visit home every day and misbehave with his brother. Recently, he misbehaved in front of the father, then the father told him to repay the loan soon. Even after this, he came home on Saturday and misbehaved. He threatened to complain to the police station if the money is not repaid by Monday. This had already made the brother tense and due to which he committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling.
Ram Kumar had a love marriage 14 years ago. He has three sons Yash (14), Rohan (10) and Shashi (8). On Monday afternoon, the police handed over the body to the family after a post-mortem. The police said that the detailed statements of the family members could not be recorded at the moment.
