Anand Utsav to bring happiness: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that Anand Utsav will be celebrated in every village and city of the state from 'Makar Sankranti to January 28. Dr. Yadav has appealed' to all the people of the state to join this initiative taken by the state government to spread happiness everywhere and bring smile on every face. He said that preservation of traditions and culture is the pledge of the state government. Conducting activities rooted in folk culture at the community level brings joy in life. Keeping this fact in mind, Anand Utsav is being organised in the entire state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to enhance participation and enthusiasm among the citizens, activities related to traditional sports and culture will be conducted at the group level in every village and city. He said that the basic spirit of Anand Utsav is not compitition rather participation.

Spread of joy and happiness is vital for an accomplished life

Chief Minister Yadav said that mental, physical and emotional development and happiness of the citizens is essential for the development and prosperity of the state. Along with the availability of basic necessities and infrastructure, spread of joy and happiness is vital for making life complete. Cultural events and sports are the main factors in enhancing the mental, physical and emotional well-being of a person. Anand Utsav is being organised on the basis of these facts. The activities under this will be centered on the concept of joy in Indian tradition.

Activities in Anand Utsav will also be suitable for the Divyangs and the elderly

Chief Minister Yadav said that Anand Utsav will mainly include locally popular traditional sports like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Bora Race, Pithu, Sitoliya, Lemon Race etc. Under cultural programmes, folk music, dance, singing, bhajan, kirtan, drama and other programmes decided at the local level will be organised. Anand Utsav will be organised in such a way that all sections of the society like men and women, citizens of all age groups, Divyangs etc. can participate in the activities. To ensure special participation of women/men above 50 years of age, Divyangs and elderly, activities suitable for them will be organised in the festival. Participants who perform well will also be rewarded.

Voluntary organisations will also participate in the event along with the government staff

Panchayats at the village level will play a key role in organising Anand Utsav with the active participation of voluntary organisations, public representatives and volunteers of Rajya Anand Sansthan along with Rajya Anand Sansthan and Panchayat and Rural Development Department. Officers at the district, subdivision and district level have been entrusted with the responsibility of necessary coordination.
