Tuesday, 18 June 2024 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Heavy rainfall with thunder storms and lightning was witnessed in the wee hours in state capital on Monday while during the day dry weather conditions were witnessed.

Even after good pre-monsoon activities Bhopal residents failed to get any relief from the scorching heat.

Pre-monsoon activity continues in Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday also, it rained in many places including Seoni, Raisen, Chhindwara, Bhopal, Ratlam, Vidisha, Pachmarhi.

The monsoon coming from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal has weakened now. Due to this, it may be 4 to 5 days late in Madhya Pradesh from the scheduled time.

The IMD Bhopal told that monsoon may enter from Balaghat, Dindori by June 19-20. It will become active in the eastern part in the next 2-3 days. On Sunday, 4 women were injured due to lightning in Seoni.

Currently, a cyclonic circle is active in the part of South-West Rajasthan and a trough line from Uttar Pradesh to Meghalaya. At the same time, moisture is coming due to the circle of south-west winds. Due to this, there is storm and rain activity in the state. At the same time, the speed of monsoon has slowed down. In this way, it may be delayed by a few days.

The day temperature remained around 40 degrees Celsius, while in other parts of the state the day temperature reached around 46 degrees. Since the monsoon has just officially reached Gujarat.

It will take a few more days to reach MP. Relief from the heat depends on pre-monsoon activity, which has not been strong so far, at least not in Bhopal. This means that residents will have to face such weather for a few more days.

There may be rain with lightning in Rewa, West Chhindwara, Pandhurna, East Shivpuri, Datia, Mauganj and East Chhindwara in the state. Khajuraho of Chhatarpur, Balaghat, Betul, Pachmarhi of Narmadapuram, West Shivpuri, Sheopurkalan, Gwalior, Morena, Ratangarh, South Umaria, South Shahdol, Dindori, Ujjain, Dewas, Agar, Indore, South Khargone, Barwani, South Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Katni, Chitrakoot of Satna, Narsinghpur and Amarkantak of Anuppur are expected to receive rain during the afternoon.

Conditions are favorable for 4-5 days for the advance of southwest monsoon into parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and northwest Bay of Bengal, parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and parts of Bihar in the next few months.
