The PM Shri Air Ambulance service is proving to be a boon in providing timely medical assistance to citizens in emergency situations. This service is saving precious lives. Vimal Kumar Jain (70 years old), a heart patient from Kareli in Narsinghpur district, was airlifted by the PM Shri Air Ambulance service and sent to Hyderabad for better treatment.
Considering Jain's condition, Narsinghpur District Hospital referred him to the KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad. Jain was then transported by the 108 Ambulance to Jabalpur Airport, from where he was sent to KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad, by the PM Shri Air Ambulance service. This service was provided to Jain free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The PM Shri Air Ambulance service provides emergency medical assistance by air to citizens, reaching remote areas of the state and providing critical care and stabilising patients for airlifting to higher medical centres when necessary.
The service includes both helicopter ambulances and fixed-wing convertible flying ambulances. These air ambulances are staffed with highly trained medical and paramedical teams.
The PM Shri Air Ambulance service also provides free transportation for victims of road and industrial accidents or natural disasters, either within the state or to government and private hospitals. For Ayushman cardholders, free transport is available to all government and Ayushman-affiliated hospitals within the state and outside.
For other beneficiaries who are not Ayushman cardholders, free transport is available to government hospitals within the state, while transport to hospitals outside the state is available at contracted rates.
