Gwl sets remarkable benchmark with airport construction

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed Gwalior's achievement in completing the construction of its new terminal building within just 16 months, setting a commendable precedent for rapid progress nationwide. He emphasized that Gwalior's swift development epitomizes the pace of growth in the country.

The government remains dedicated to enhancing the lives of all citizens, with a particular focus on facilitating easier access to air travel. Efforts are underway to expand air services to smaller cities, fostering increased industrial and business activities across the nation. Modi addressed the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of several national projects virtually from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. During the event, he remotely inaugurated the new terminal building of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport, Gwalior. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi also marked the commencement and foundation stone laying of 14 other airport projects across the country, totaling an investment of Rs. 9,811 crore.

In the programme organised at Gwalior Airport, Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Aidal Singh Kanshana were present. During the event, the magnificent statue of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia was unveiled, accompanied by floral tributes. Following the rendition of the national anthem, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav commenced the proceedings by lighting the lamp and honoring the revered saints.

The Prime Minister said that the inauguration of institutions and facilities nationwide from a single location underscores the government's unwavering commitment to translating promises into tangible actions. He reiterated that their dedication extends beyond mere announcements and foundation stone ceremonies, emphasizing the priority placed on grassroots development efforts. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the ongoing mission of perpetual advancement in the country, with a target of achieving a developed India by 2047, through swift-paced initiatives encompassing not only infrastructure enhancements like airports, highways, and railways but also focused efforts on education, water management, and environmental conservation. Acknowledging the rapid urbanization trend, he highlighted the expansion of modern infrastructure in tier-two and tier-three cities as a cornerstone of the government's dual-engine approach. Enhanced connectivity, he noted, paves the way for a promising future for the nation's youth. The Prime Minister emphasized that genuine progress and expansion are only attainable through sincere efforts guided by integrity and honesty.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav disbursed a total sum of Rs 678 crore to 30,551 labor families with a single click under Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Sambal Yojana 2.0 in the programme at Gwalior Airport. Additionally, Dr. Yadav announced a substantial increase in assistance for workers affected by disability or death, raising the amount from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 4 lakh, emphasizing the government's unwavering support for laborers. Furthermore, workers will now receive a financial aid of Rs 40,000 to facilitate the purchase of e-scooters. In a bid to further bolster support for laborers, Dr. Yadav announced enhanced wages: Rs 11,450 for unskilled laborers, Rs 12,446 for semi-skilled laborers, and Rs 9,160 for agricultural laborers, underlining the government's commitment to the welfare of laborers.
