GST raids illegally operated gutkha making factories at Durg, Rajnandgaon

State GST has raided two illegally operated Gutka making factories in Durg and Rajnandgaon.

The team has found massive quantity of raw materials and packing material of branded companies.

Based on the information received by state GST Chandramukhi area in Durg district was raided and packing material was burnt before the arrival of the team still the team managed to get hold of the fraudulently run factories. At the factory raw material and rappers of Sitar and Manikchand were recovered in large quantities.

Along with the raw material mixer machines was also recovered.

During the raid at the factory which operates as Komal Foods team got information of other factory operated illegally at Rajnandgaon and following which that factory was also raided.

The GST team claimed that evidence of illegally operated Gutka making was found at the factory.

The action was important as GST is highest in the state on Gukta Pan Masala and Tobacco products and an additional compensation cess is along imposed over GST and due to which possibility of tax theft remains high.

In these illegal factories different renowned pan masala brands materials like Rajshree, Ashiki, Vimal and others were also found.

Meanwhile in another development state GST raided 3 business premises.

The three firms were claiming higher Income Tax and during the raid large difference in stocks was found. Over Rs 8 crore tax was deposited by the three firms after the action of GST.

In these illegally operated factories, materials of different major brands including Rajshree, Ashiki and Vimal etc were also seized.
