The state cabinet led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren has opened the government's treasury for improvement in the health sector and infrastructure. Schemes worth more than Rs 738 crore have been approved for the construction and renovation of buildings in the RIMS campus alone. Along with this, approval has also been given for the construction of modular OT in all hospitals. Modular OT will be constructed in medical colleges and other hospitals with Rs 35.69 crore.
CT scan and MRI machines will be purchased in Ranchi Sadar Hospital. A total of 81 proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting. Paying special attention to the elderly, the cabinet has also extended the scope of Indira Gandhi Pension Scheme to the elderly above 80 years of age. They will get one thousand rupees as pension every month. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel informed the media about all the decisions.
The cabinet has also approved the estimate of Rs 303.88 crore for the construction of houses for the MLAs of Jharkhand. In the cabinet meeting, everyone unanimously agreed to this proposal. It is proposed to build these houses at Site-1 of Core Capital Area located in HEC campus.
Along with this, approval of Rs 76.35 crore has been given for construction and renovation work of new building in Government Polytechnic, Jagannathpur to develop it as a state of the art institution. Along with this, approval was given to amend the water rate with retrospective effect under the notification of the then Bihar government. The cabinet approved amendment in the implementation of Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension Scheme.
After the decision of the cabinet, now students of class 9 to 12 in government schools of Jharkhand will get a diary, on which their regular activities can be recorded. This diary will work as a bridge between teachers and parents. On the other hand, 2051 small Anganwadi centers will be converted into Saksham Anganwadi centers.
Under the Indira Gandhi Widow and Old Age Pension Scheme, the age limit has been made 80 years and under this the beneficiaries will get one thousand rupees every month. The cabinet has also approved the construction of a cultural center in Garhwa. The dependents of the policemen killed in Naxalite violence in the state will get jobs on compassionate grounds. The cabinet has decided to give 1.50 acres of land to St. Xavier's School Doranda on a 30-year lease.
The proposal to build Bar Council buildings in all the districts of Jharkhand has also been approved. It has been decided to open a degree college in Margomunda block in Madhupur, Deoghar at a cost of Rs 33 crore 10 lakh. The number of students going abroad for studies every year has been increased. Under the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme, now 50 students can go abroad for studies. At present, the government used to give scholarships to 25 students for studies abroad.
