Thursday, 18 January 2024 | PNS | Lohardaga

The 215th birth anniversary of Martyr Pandey Ganpat Rai was celebrated by the District Administration Lohardaga and Martyr Memorial Committee at Adarsh Village Bhauron on Wednesday. On this occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna, Superintendent of Police Harish Bin Zaman, Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Chairperson of Martyr Memorial Committee Dr. Vandana Rai and family members of the martyr laid wreath on the statue of Martyr Pandey Ganpat Rai.

The DC said on this occasion that even after so many years, the gathering of so many people at one place in his honor shows their respect and immense love for Pandey Ganpat Rai. After many years of rule, seeing the attitude of the agitators here, the British government had realized that keeping India dependent is not an easy task. Today we need to follow the paths shown by Martyr Pandey Ganpat Rai and be inspired by him. Today we are breathing this free air, what a great sacrifice is behind it. It is important to tell children the meaning of freedom.

SP Haris Bin Zaman said that the role of Pandey Ganpat Rai from this region was very important in the rebellion of 1857 in Jharkhand. Even at that time people were very close to the environment in this area. The British tried to separate the people here from the environment. But at that time, the work done by Martyr Pandey Ganpat Rai in blowing the bugle against British rule was unforgettable. He is a source of inspiration for us even today. He said that if there is any kind of deficiency in the system then raise voice against it. There is a need to take inspiration from them. His life is exemplary, which needs to be imbibed.

In the program, stalls of testing camp by Community Health Center Bhandara at the venue, Agriculture, Co-operation, Child Development Project, Hindalco, Circle Office Bhandra, District Horticulture Office, Social Security, MGNREGA, Swachh Bharat Mission under drinking water and sanitation have organized their respective schemes.
